Dermal Fillers in San Diego and La Jolla by Plastic Surgeon Dr. Mark Mofid
If aging has caused the face to develop lines, wrinkles, or a hollow appearance, Dr. Mark Mofid can alleviate these aesthetic problems with a variety of Dermal fillers at one of his San Diego area practices. Depending on the needs of each patient, Dr. Mofid will recommend one of the following fillers: Artefill®, Restylane®, Juvéderm™, Radiesse®, Sculptra™, or Cosmoplast™. Each patient is advised to visit Dr. Mofid personally for an anti-aging consultation to determine which of these fillers suits his or her needs best. You will also have the opportunity to meet with his Cosmetic Coordinator for a digital imaging session to show prospective patients what they might look like after their Dermal Filler injection.
Restylane®
Restylane is used to add volume and smoothness to your skin, restoring the skin's volume, creating softness and revitalizing your appearance. Youthful skin is rich in hyaluronic acid; as we age the amount of hyaluronic acid disperses leaving our skin looking worn out and fatigued. Restylane gels work by enhancing your skin’s own stocks of hyaluronic acid, directly adding volume to either soften the signs of aging or enhance your features. It is long lasting, but not permanent with little or no down time and requires no testing before hand.

Juvéderm™
Juvéderm™ is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Dr. Mofid eases Juvéderm™ under the skin to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “Smile Lines”, "Marionette lines", "Vertical Lip Lines", and "Chin Area Wrinkles". This filler is long lasting, but not permanent, with little or no down time.

Radiesse®
Radiesse® dermal filler is made up of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel, and is injected into the skin through a simple and minimally invasive procedure. Sculptra™
Sculptra® is an enduring treatment approved by the FDA for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss in people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) .Facial fat loss results in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. Sculptra® is a safe, synthetic, and biocompatible material that is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss. It provides a gradual and significant increase in skin thickness, improving the appearance of folds and sunken areas. No skin testing is required with minimal or no down time.
Cosmoplast™
Mimicking the natural effects of collagen, a natural protein produced in the body, Cosmoplast® contains a highly-purified human collagen to fill in fine lines and wrinkles near the eyes and on the forehead, as well as restoration of the lip border. Replenishing collagen lost due to aging, sun exposure, and the environment to restore the natural structure of the skin for a beautiful appearance.
Artefill®
Facial wrinkles are a result of the natural aging process. Over time, the skin loses its ability to repair itself as the underlying elastin and collagen fibers break down and lose elasticity. Heredity, UV exposure, and repetitive facial movement can all contribute to the development of facial wrinkles and folds.Dr. Mofid injects the filler underneath the wrinkle, just above the skin’s fat layer providing the soft, supportive foundation that your skin needs for long-lasting wrinkle correction. Artefill® does require a patch test to be performed 28 days prior to the procedure to ensure there is no allergic reaction. Artefill® is permanent, but may require multiple injections.
