Dr.Mona Z Mofid- San Diego Skin, INC

Affectionately called “Dr. Mona” by many of her patients and the staff at San Diego Skin, Inc., dermatologist Dr. Mona Z. Mofid received her medical degree at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed her training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, which is consistently recognized by U.S. News and World Report as “ America's #1 Hospital.”

After the completion of her training, Dr. Mona Z. Mofid was appointed as a full-time faculty member and the Clinic Director of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins. She became the youngest president of The Maryland Dermatologic Society and has been recognized internationally in her field, particularly for her compassionate care. Dr. Mona is currently a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and has received many awards for her professional achievements. She now lives in San Diego, where her work as a dermatologist has benefited hundreds of patients.

Dr. Mona has authored numerous scientific papers about the skin and lectures nationally and internationally. Devoting much of her time to nonprofit foundations, she also serves as the Medical Director of The American Melanoma Foundation and in 2006 was recognized by the Combined Health Agencies as a “Health Hero.” Dr. Mona was recently chosen by The American Biographical Institute's Board of International Research as “Woman of the Year 2007” based on “her outstanding accomplishments to date and the noble example she has set for her peers and entire community.” Providing skin care services for patients at San Diego Skin, Inc., she is a leading dermatologist and has the expertise necessary to improve the quality of a patient's skin and to treat serious skin conditions such as skin cancer.

Dr. Mona Z. Mofid currently works in her own private practice, San Diego Skin, Inc., with her husband, Dr. Mark Mofid, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon.
