Laser Hair Removal
There are many techniques used today to eliminate unwanted body hair, including tweezing, threading, and waxing. None, however, is as effective and long-lasting as laser hair removal. In a series of four to six sessions, Jessica Davis, RN, under the supervision of Dr. Mofid, can remove hair permanently from the legs, back, face, underarms, and/or bikini area. In fact, almost any area can be treated.
A few days prior to laser hair removal, the patient shaves the treatment area(s). When the patient visits Jessica, he or she may be asked to wear special glasses to block out light from the laser that is harmful to the eyes. Based on each patient's hair type, skin type, and other factors, the laser is adjusted to optimize the laser hair removal procedure. The hand-held laser is then focused directly on the hair follicles to stop or reduce hair growth. There is very little discomfort associated with this procedure, and most patients enjoy an 80 to 90 percent reduction in hair growth.

Laser Vein Treatment
Laser energy can be applied over the skin's surface to reduce the prominence or eliminate the appearance of spider veins, which commonly form on the legs and face. During laser vein treatment, patients typically experience slight discomfort, as though a small rubber band is snapping the treated area. However, no anesthetic is needed, and the procedure is not generally considered to be a painful one. Immediately after laser vein treatment, the spider veins will actually be more visible than they were before. Over the next several weeks, though, they will fade rapidly. Usually, approximately three treatments are necessary for Jessica Davis, RN, under the supervision of Dr. Mofid, to shrink the spider veins to the point at which they are no longer visible.
Glycolic Peels

The active ingredient in the Obagi Blue Peel® is trichloracetic acid (TCA). The TCA in this peel helps to reverse the aging process by gently removing the surface layers of skin damaged by aging, the sun, and irritants. Wrinkles, scars, skin laxity, and pigmentation problems can be addressed with this peel. Be advised that Dr. Mona does not recommend wearing makeup for a week after this procedure.
